News: 16th Annual Education for Issuers Held

Organized by the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa), the Central Depository and Clearing Company (SKDD d.d.) and the Zagreb Stock Exchange, the 16th annual education event for issuers whose securities are listed on the Zagreb Stock Exchange was held.

The event brought together numerous issuer representatives with the goal of exchanging knowledge, strengthening regulatory and market practices and promoting transparency and sustainable business conduct on the Croatian capital market.

In the opening part of the event, attendees were addressed by Ivana Gažić, President of the Management Board of the Zagreb Stock Exchange, and Jurica Jednacak, a member of HANFA’s Board, who emphasized the importance of continuous education and cooperation among market participants to build investor trust and develop the domestic capital market.

More information about the new Corporate Governance Code was presented by Andreja Hašček, Head of the Issuer Supervision Division at HANFA, highlighting its goals to improve transparency and accountability in the operations of joint-stock companies. Following the presentation on the Code, Ana Tkalec, a representative of UNICEF's office in Croatia, introduced the topic of children's rights as an integral part of responsible governance and a significant component of the ESG framework.



Ivana Gažić, President of the Management Board of the Zagreb Stock Exchange, provided an overview of market trends and emphasized key developments in the domestic capital market. Melita Marčeta, Head of the Zagreb Stock Exchange Academy, highlighted the Academy’s 15 years of operation as an important educational initiative for investors and issuers.



Ivana Bračun presented current initiatives and future plans of the Issuers' Community, which operates within the Croatian Chamber of Economy, aimed at facilitating regulatory compliance for issuers and promoting their interests.

The event concluded with a presentation on the Shareholder Rights Directive by Marin Hlupić on behalf of SKDD, who shared experiences in implementing the Directive, outlined the challenges encountered, and proposed potential solutions for more effective shareholder communication and improved governance.
